Scholarship 2012

The Scholarship Application Process will begin March 1, 2012 and the deadline date will be May 6, 2012. Please download and fill out this application and return to the Massachusetts Educational Foundation, Inc. at PO Box 192, Accord, MA 02018-0192.

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the Massachusetts Educational Foundation Scholarship, a scholarship created in memory of Marion Overhiser. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage women’s professional development, specifically mature women, to make career changes and gain the education and training they need for their new careers.

Marion began her professional career in the field of nursing.  Years later, while working full time and raising two children, she returned to the classroom to study accounting and business, the result of which was her being a founding partner of the CPA firm Overhiser & Dougherty.

A complete submission includes the application, two letters of reference, and written verification of program enrollment.  Scholarships are awarded up to $1,000.  Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be a mature woman, age 35 or older.
  • Committed to making a career change.
  • Reside in Massachusetts.
  • Must use scholarship within one year of award which will occur in June 2012.

Completed applications and the required documentation must be received no later than May 6, 2012 to be considered. All applications are confidential. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications may be submitted as follows:

Finalists will be notified by phone or email and must attend a scheduled interview.  Proof of age via legal document will be needed along with enrollment verification for the interview.  Scholarship recipients are encouraged to attend the June award ceremony.
